U.S. Ambassador to Slovenia Lynda C. Blanchard presented a donation of equipment to aid in the ongoing fight against COVID-19 and prevention of future outbreaks to Minister of Health State Secretary Tina Bregant, Ministry of Defense State Secretary Damijan Jaklin, and Deputy Director of ACPDR Mr. Stanislav Lotrič at University Medical Center Ljubljana today.
The U.S. European Command provided funding for 294 protective suits, 320 pairs of overboots, 640 pairs of chemical resistant gloves, and a state-of-the-art ultraviolet disinfection device under their Overseas Humanitarian Disaster Assistance and Civic Aid Program as a reflection of the close defense and security relationship between our two countries.
The U.S. Embassy in Ljubljana worked with the Administration for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief, Ministry of Defense, and Ministry of Health to identify equipment needs, then sought out local vendors and manufacturers capable of fulfilling those needs. Innovative Slovenian company UV-C Solutions helped facilitate the donation of the high-tech disinfection system and was on hand to demonstrate its ground-breaking capabilities.
