International Military Education and Training (IMET)

The IMET program provides military education and training in 2000 courses at approximately 150 military schools, on a grant basis, to students from over 125 friendly and allied countries.  Training through the IMET program has been available to Slovenian Ministry of Defense employees and members of Slovenian Armed forces since 1993.  To date, several hundred students have been trained in the US and in various seminars organized in Slovenia.  This training is professional and non-political, exposing foreign students to US professional military organizations.  International students are trained together with their American counterparts therefore English language proficiency is necessary for anyone attending the courses.

If you are a member of Slovenian Armed Forces or civilian working in the Ministry of Defense, have good English language skills, and are interested in attending a US military school How to apply?  ODC receives all nominations from our points of contact within General Staff and the Ministry of Defense.  For procedures, check with your supervisor or military chain-of-command.
