Ambassador Hartley makes cheese

Ambassador Hartley had a terrific time learning “hands on” about alpine dairies and cheese-making.  Recently hosted by the Lipušček-Miklavič family at Planina Medrje, he helped to milk the cows – including mucking out the milking house afterward — and to make Tolminc cheese and skuta.  Learning traditional dairying methods in such a spectacular natural setting was an unforgettable experience.
