Adria Airways, the primary carrier serving Slovenia, continues to cancel most of its flights due to the company’s financial situation. Travelers report that it is very difficult to contact Adria Airways at this time. Other airlines serving Ljubljana have increased their capacity.
Actions to Take:
- Consider taking ground transport to meet your connecting European flight. The U.S. Embassy does not endorse any particular company, but providers such as Flixbus and Nomago offer motor coach service between cities, and GoOpti is a shared van service. Buses/vans depart from the Ljubljana train station and can be booked on-line in English using a credit card.
- Alternatively, contact your connecting airline or the travel agent from whom you bought the tickets to consider alternative flight options. The nearest international airports include Trieste, Zagreb, and Venice (1-2.5 hour drive).
- Ensure you have sufficient required medications in case of flight delays.
- While the U.S. government is unable to assist in rebooking transportation, Americans who are destitute or facing other emergency may contact the U.S. Embassy.
