The 6th Annual Summer Economics Institute (SEI) 2017 held its Final Event on August 30, 2017 at the NLB Center za inovativno podjetništvo (CIP) for the 19 Slovenian university students who took part this year.
Ambassador Brent R. Hartley and AmCham Slovenia Executive Director Ajsa Vodnik spoke about this innovative program, which is jointly organized by the US Embassy and AmCham Slovenia and seeks to promote youth engagement in entrepreneurship, business and economic literacy, through internships with AmCham companies combined with twenty US Embassy organized speakers and site visits plus a Lean Start Up program with American visiting professor of entrepreneurship Jay Ebben.
At the Final Event, five teams of SEI 2017 students presented their business ideas and got the chance to meet with SEI alumni from previous years, as well as AmCham mentors and others.
